Like the rest of the SmoothPay interface, the standard buttons behave consistently throughout the software. Once you understand what they do, it becomes much easier to navigate and interact with SmoothPay.
Interaction bars
Where present, interaction bars always sit below data columns.
The buttons within an interaction bar allow you to manage the records in the data column above it.
Standard buttons
Standard buttons usually appear on interaction bars, although some also appear elsewhere in the software.
+ button
The + button allows you to add a new record to a data column. This button only ever appears on an interaction bar.
Click the + button to open a window where you can enter the record details. Click Save to commit the new record to the data column.
- button
The − button allows you to remove a record from a data column. This button only ever appears on an interaction bar.
Click the − button to delete the selected record. Depending on the area, the record may be removed immediately or you may be asked to confirm the deletion.
Edit button
The edit button allows you to change a selected record or edit the settings displayed in a detail panel.
The edit button will appear on an interaction bar or near the top-left corner of a detail panel.
Click the edit button to open a window containing either:
the selected record, or
the options, settings and fields associated with the current detail panel.
Make the required changes, then select Save to apply them or Cancel to close the window without saving.
Print button
The print button provides reports and output options relevant to the current area or selected record.
Click the print button to display the available reports and output options, then select the required option.
Summary
Standard buttons are usually located on the interaction bar below a data column. They allow you to add, remove, edit or produce outputs for the records in that column. The edit button may also appear within a detail panel, where it is used to change the displayed information.
+ button: Adds a new record.
