The Leave taken tab contains the leave entries recorded for the employee currently selected in the Payrun.
Leave entries use Leave codes configured in the Codes screen. The selected Leave code determines the type of leave being processed and the applicable leave rules.

When a Payrun containing leave is processed, the leave transaction becomes part of the employee's pay and leave history, and the applicable leave balance is updated.

Making changes
Leave entries are maintained using the interaction bar below the transaction column.
Use the + button to add a new Leave entry. This opens the Leave and Termination wizard.
Use the - button to remove the selected Leave entry.
Use the Edit button to make changes to the selected Leave entry.
Leave entries added to the employee's current pay are displayed in the transaction column when the Leave taken tab is selected.
Selecting a Leave entry displays its information in the detail panel.
Options, settings and fields
The fields displayed for a Leave entry can vary depending on the leave type and the jurisdiction the payroll is configured for.
Date
Type: Date field
Purpose: Records the date associated with the Leave entry.
Dependency: Can be determined by the leave dates entered through the Leave and Termination wizard.
Other functionality: None
Type
Type: Dropdown menu
Purpose: Selects the Leave code used for the entry.
Dependency: Depends on the available Leave codes configured under the Leave codes category in the Codes screen.
Other functionality: The selected Leave code determines the leave classification and applicable leave processing rules.
Units
Type: Numeric field
Purpose: Records the quantity of leave being used for the Leave entry.
Dependency: Depends on the selected Leave code and its leave configuration.
Other functionality: Where the leave is measured in Days or Weeks, a corresponding Days or Weeks value can also be recorded alongside the Units value.
Days / Weeks
Type: Numeric field
Purpose: Records the number of days or weeks represented by the Leave entry in addition to the Units value.
Dependency: Displayed when the selected leave entitlement uses Days or Weeks as its unit of measure.
Other functionality: The label changes to match the applicable unit of measure. This field may not be displayed when the leave entitlement is measured in Hours.
Rate
Type: Numeric field
Purpose: Displays the rate used to value the Leave entry.
Dependency: Depends on the selected Leave code, employee settings and the applicable leave calculation.
Other functionality: Normally calculated as part of the leave entry created through the Leave and Termination wizard.
Value
Type: Calculated monetary field
Purpose: Displays the monetary value of the Leave entry.
Dependency: Depends on the quantity of leave being processed and the applicable leave valuation.
Other functionality: The method used to determine the value can vary by leave type and jurisdiction.
Department
Type: Dropdown menu
Purpose: Assigns a Department to the Leave entry for costing and reporting purposes.
Dependency: Depends on available Department codes configured in the Codes screen.
Other functionality: None
Cost centre
Type: Dropdown menu
Purpose: Assigns a Cost centre to the Leave entry for payroll costing.
Dependency: Depends on available Cost centre (account) codes classified as expense accounts in the Codes screen.
Other functionality: The initial Cost centre can be influenced by the employee and Leave code configuration.
Job
Type: Dropdown menu
Purpose: Assigns a Job to the Leave entry for additional costing or accounting analysis.
Dependency: Depends on available Job codes configured in the Codes screen.
Other functionality: Depending on the accounting configuration, this field may be displayed as Tracking 1.
Activity
Type: Dropdown menu
Purpose: Assigns an Activity to the Leave entry for additional costing or accounting analysis.
Dependency: Depends on available Activity codes configured in the Codes screen.
Other functionality: Depending on the accounting configuration, this field may be displayed as Tracking 2.

Payslip note
Type: Text field
Purpose: Records a note against the individual Leave entry for payslip output.
Dependency: None
Other functionality: Can be populated from the optional comment entered through the Leave and Termination wizard.
